Intro to Swordsmanship is a course designed with the beginning swordsman (or woman!) in mind.  It covers all the basics of the art and is laid out to offer the student a wide range of skills applicable to multiple styles of sword fighting.  The course will also introduce students to two styles of swordsmanship (broadsword and two-handed sword) and students can decide for themselves which weapon style they would like to pursue in future advanced courses. This course is a prerequisite for the Advanced Sword Fighting Techniques. 

The Twelve-Week Intro to Swordsmanship Course Includes:

  • The Basics: Stance, Guards, Footwork and fundamental theory of fighting

  • Broad Sword and Buckler (small shield) Techniques

  • Broad Sword and Viking Round Shield Techniques

  • Long Sword (two handed sword) Techniques and

  • Demonstrations and Lectures from the Knight School Instructor Staff

  • Plus Plenty of opportunities to duel and spar with other students!
