Where to buy your own Swordsmanship Gear: Invariably, you will want to get your own gear for practice and sparring. Below are a list of companies that provide much of the gear we use. Renaissance Swordsmanship: For Swords and Masks, we use and recommend Triplette Competition Arms Currently, we use Triplette T90X Epee blades For Renaissance Swordsmanship, we use Triplette Swords models R6, R7, R8 and R9.
For Masks, we use a wide variety but we can suggest the Triplette #183 for $60, it's a good deal. If you wish to get a fighting tunic to protect you in your fighting we suggest the Triplette T-253. Our own Richard Devon uses one (black, of course) and it offers him great protection at a great price. In any case, when you call ask for Phillip Jones or Walter Triplette and tell them that Summer Knights/Knight School sent you; you may get a discount!
Medieval Swordsmanship: We use Wooden Wasters (swords) for drills and instruction and you can purchase one for $45 to $60 through: We use standard Long Swords, Bastard Swords, Fighter's Swords and Short Swords (between 32"and 52") for sword drills and fighting as well; make sure your long sword is between 48" and 52". We also use padded swords for full-contact sparring and you may want to buy your own. www.paddedweapons.com supplies us with our weaponry and it is the best we have found to date! |
